First Basemen

6. Juan Gutierrez-27 years old, ML-S/R, .993 FLD%, career ML line of .279/.342/.385 in 703 AB's, .301/.380/.444 in 1630 AB's in AAA/ML. Also has 1.00 FAM at C.
5. Darrell Garrison-24 years old, AAA-L/L, .994 FLD%, career line of .303/.372/.526 in 2424 AB's in A/AA/AAA, averaging 27 HR per 162 games played. Also has 1.00 FAM in all outfield positions.
4. Carlos Delgado-35 years old, ML-L/R, .994 FLD%, career ML line of .279/.385/.537 in 7355 AB's, with 467 career HR's and 2051 career H's. Will serve as the primary backup to Hee Seop Choi.
3. Pedro Brocail-25 years old, AAA-L/L, .993 FLD%, career line of .343/.422/.618 in 2330 AB's in A/AA/AAA. Hit 50 HR in 147 games in AAA in 2009 while maintaining a BB/K ratio above 1. Also has 1.00 FAM in all outfield positions.
2. Fred Murray-26 years old, AAA-L/R, .983 FLD%, career ML line of .250/.311/.453 in 124 AB's, career line of .328/.409/.582 in 1667 AB's across all levels. Will be called up to ML and serve as the starting 1B if Hee Seop Choi is injured for an extended period of time, and can fill in at either corner outfield position if the starters are hurt.
1. Hee Seop Choi-29 years old, ML Starter-L/L, .993 FLD%, career ML line of .262/.372/.496 in 2850 AB's. Career highs-AVG .293, OBP .408, SLG .578, H 164, 2B 54, HR 44, R 104, RBI 119, BB 109, K 168 (low), 230 (high).

We're not going to lie, Choi is probably better suited to play for another team, as he struggles in the big ballpark at Shea. But until we get a good offer for him, we'll hold on to him and his .372 OBP and consistent R/RBI numbers hovering around 100. Murray has been blocked by great players in the outfield and now at 1B and needs to find a place where he can start, so he's on the block. Brocail hit 50 homers last year and the Mets would love to call him up to be a power pinch hitter, but there is no room on the 25 man roster right now. Delgado is going to serve as the backup 1B for now, and will possibly reach 500 HR next year. Garrison's future is in the outfield and Gutierrez doesn't have the power numbers to be a significant threat to the starting 1B job.

Catchers

These are the Mets who are both ML-Ready and have 1.00 FAM at Catcher:

6. Noe Hopper-25 years old, AA-L/R, 8.92 ARM, career line of .348/.447/.501 in 417 AB's at A/AA.
5. Terry Norton-24 years old, AA-R/R, 5.97 ARM, career line of .306/.390/.583 in 1633 AB's at A/AA/AAA. Also has 1.00 FAM at LF.
4. Brett Kay-29 years old, AAA-R/R, 9.90 ARM, career ML line of .345/.389/.488 in 84 AB's, .311/.392/.525 in 927 AB's in AA/AAA/ML.
3. Juan Gutierrez-27 years old, ML-S/R, 3.90 ARM, career ML line of .279/.342/.385 in 703 AB's, .301/.380/.444 in 1630 AB's in AAA/ML. Also has 1.00 FAM at 1B.
2. Matthew Moses-24 years old, ML-L/R, 6.00 ARM, career line of .318/.420/.540 in 2035 AB's in A/AA/AAA, with a BB/K ratio of 358/268 and 247 career XBH's. Also has 1.00 FAM at 3B.
1. Joe Mauer-26 years old, ML Starter-L/R, 7.80 ARM, career ML line of .310/.387/.496 in 2184 AB's, with 243 career XBH's and a career BB/K ratio of 273/226. Averaged almost 90 R/RBI per year.

Out of the six, Mauer is as close to untouchable as any player in the Mets system comes. Moses still has a lot to prove in the majors, but he will likely get a platoon shot at 3B with Aaron Baldiris if Sean Burroughs is traded with Bobby Crosby for a shortstop as planned. Juan Gutierrez is a decent hitter and gets on base at a good clip, but lacks the power and arm strength to be a ML starter at C at any point in time. Kay is an elite defensive catcher, but there is no room for him in this system. Norton and Hopper are likely going to be career AAAA players.
